The current exhibition includes work by:
Catherine Philips is an abstract painter and video artist, and is fascinated by the moon, by nature and the world around us; she creates a lot of her paintings in a spontaneous, unplanned way; this is often in response to music that she listens to, dreams or just as an experiment. She loves bold colours and strongly believes in the healing power of art.
Having been brought up in a rural part of Somerset has influenced my work strongly and often my paintings are focused on this aspect of the city, the parks, the river and open spaces. I like the accessibility of these areas and try to re-create something of their tranquillity and beauty in my paintings. My favourite medium is watercolour but I also use acrylics and most recently mixed media – collage and watercolour.
Gale Davies is passionate about photography and loves photographing London, nature, children, community events, commercial and anything else that comes along!
I was first introduced to pottery at an evening class in 2004. I loved it so much that I decided to carry on and share my enthusiasm with others. I’ve been painting since childhood and ceramics gave me another challenging and very tactile canvas to paint on. www.pots4u.com
