The story follows six months in the life of a young English teacher, Oliver, who is under investigation for having inappropriate relations with a female student. Due to the stress of the ongoing investigations he suffers a breakdown, and goes into a fugue state. When he comes out of it, he has no memory of the last six months of his life.
