The Lovekyn Consort give their annual Christmas consort with a mixture of Baroque cantatas, familar and unfamiliar English carols – some with audience participation – French Noels and a quartet by Telemann, and a new piece written especially for the concert.

Kingston’s music for the Jo Cox weekend

As part of a national weekend of events to support the Jo Cox Foundation, Kingston Welcomes will promote an evening of music from different parts of Kingston’s varied communitiy, including Tamil, Korean, and choral music.

Jo Cox MP was murdered in June 2016 during the approach to the EU referendum, and the Foundation run by her husband aims to support the causes for which worked so effectively:

‘Jo Cox believed in a fairer, kinder world’

Contributors will include The Lovekyn Consort performing 17th.-century songs.

Free admission. Donations invited for the Jo Cox Foundation.

Music for Shakespeare’s birthday

The Lovekyn Consort will mark the national playwright’s birthday with songs and tunes from his plays, along with actor and poet Amy Neilson-Smith performing both Shakespeare’s work and her respond to it.

Members updates

We’re eagerly looking forward to singing again in front of an audience! Our next concert is at Kingston Parish Church on 4th December at 6pm (note earlier than usual start time). We will be performing Handel’s “Messiah” with soloists and orchestra conducted by Joel Newsome-Hubbard. Masks must be worn by the audience whilst in the church.
